Scheduling Appointments

Trying to accommodate every patient's individual needs and schedules can be difficult, but we do our best. Our Freeport office is open most Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Our Monroe office is open most Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Of course, emergencies do happen, and in those cases help is available during evening hours and on weekends.

Orthodontic treatment requires constant supervision and careful timing to avoid complications and to complete treatment on schedule. After treatment has begun, we will usually see you at three to eight week intervals. It is your responsibility to make sure that you always have another appointment scheduled.

Because most of our patients are students, we cannot possibly treat everyone before and after school. We appreciate your understanding that many of your appointments must be made during school hours.

Confirmations and Cancellations

Our HouseCalls integrated computer program will call you to remind you of your appointments the night before. We ask that you carefully note your future appointments on your personal calendar.

We've found it necessary for patients to give us at least 24 hours’ notice of cancellations or breakage of braces. Failure to follow this policy will, regrettably, result in a financial charge to your account.

Our Financial Policy

Our fees are determined by the time involved and the complexity of the procedures. We will deliver the finest care we are capable of at a reasonable cost and we expect to be paid for our services.

After your examination, you'll receive a written estimate and a complete description of the needed treatment. Our administrative staff will be happy to help you choose the method of payment best suited to your individual needs.  We offer payment plans arranging from pre-payment in full with a substantial discount to installment payments extending up to five years.  Fee reductions are awarded for faithful payment of treatment expenses within two years or less.

Your Dental Insurance

Our staff will help you prepare the necessary forms for this important benefit. Your insurance policy is an agreement between your employer and your insurance company to reimburse you directly for some of your dental expenses. You’ll arrange a separate contract between you and our office. Please keep in mind that you are fully responsible for all fees charged by this office regardless of your insurance coverage. Your insurance company is responsible to you.

If you have orthodontic dental insurance, we will do our best to see that you receive your maximum benefits. We have found that the most effective way is for you to receive those benefits directly. Handled in this way, you are in a better position to be sure that you receive all the benefits due you.

Tax Deductibility of Treatment

Expenses which are not covered by insurance are deductible from your federal income taxes in some cases. When an individual owns a farm or small business and employs his/her spouse or children, all dental expenses may be deducted provided that a direct reimbursement form is filled out in advance. Our treatment coordinator will be happy to provide you with additional information.
